Armando Lerro is an Italian pizza chef originally from Omignano, a small town in the Cilento region. His professional career combines experiences in Italy and abroad, always maintaining a strong connection to his homeland.
After training as a pizza chef, working in various pizzerias and participating in culinary competitions, Armando decided to move to Australia, where he worked extensively in local pizzerias. There, he was even offered the opportunity to buy a pizzeria, reflecting his great talent, but he decided to return to Italy to apply his acquired experience in his homeland.
Back in Cilento, he opened the pizzeria “Arte Bianca della Pizza” in Castelnuovo Cilento, known for its contemporary, light pizzas made with innovative ingredients, as well as its traditional “a rueda de carro” (cart-wheel pizzas). The quality of the dough, the selection of local products, and the attentive service quickly made his restaurant a gastronomic landmark in the area.
Armando Lerro has received several prestigious awards, including international accolades that highlight his ability to blend tradition and innovation in gastronomy. He has also achieved top rankings in competitions such as the Campionato Mondiale Pizza DOC, solidifying his reputation as one of the most respected pizzaiolos in Cilento.
His style reflects a fusion of traditional Italian cuisine and a contemporary approach, with particular attention to dough preparation techniques, aging times, and showcasing local products.
